5 Tips for Storing Your Stash

Stash

Ask any cannabis user that is worth their salt (or stash), and they’ll tell you the same thing – storing your stash is a fine art. As much as weed is called weed, it has pretty specific requirements to be living its best life.

Knowing how to store your weed is stoner 101, so listen up and take notes because we all know you’re likely to forget this later.

Below are five must-know tips for keeping your stash up to scratch:

1. Temperature

Your weed’s worst enemy is a poorly controlled temperature environment. Mold and mildew will take hold if you give them even half a chance – and no one likes moldy stash. Keep your weed at temperatures of less than 22 degrees centigrade.

Keep your stash in a cool, dark place – which is something we can all feel. A cabinet in a dark corner of your room or basement is the ideal place for your weed to be at its best.

2. Humidity

RH, or relative humidity, might sound like a science term, and that would make sense – because it is. RH is essentially the measurement of water vapor content in the air in your environment. High RH, much like heat, will make your stash moldy in less time than it takes to roll one out.

Too much humidity is bad, but so is too little. RH of less than 40% will cause the oils and trichomes in your weed to dry out. Keep your weed at the right humidity and you’ll be thankful that you did later, especially if you have a new business.

3. Bags

Your go-to choice for weed baggies should always be the smell-proof kind. While the bag needs to be as airtight as possible, the benefits of specifically designed odor-proof bags are impressive.

Custom smell-proof bags can suppress and even eliminate the smell of your weed. That comes in handy, especially for dank strains that could otherwise give you away when your granddad comes to visit – unless he has glaucoma. Just kidding, keep your weed smell to yourself.

4. Maximum Air Control

Weed requires optimal airflow when it is drying. Oxygen is a powerful tool in getting your weed dried out just right, but once your stash is dry you’ll want maximum air control.

That can be achieved by a simple glass container. Too little oxygen and your buds will have increased RH levels and too much air will increase the degradation rate of your favorite leaf.

5. Cleanliness

As much as weed used to have such a bad rep at one stage, those times have changed. Too many cannabis users still feel the need to hide their dirty little secret and that is so wrong, both for you and for your weed.

Don’t hide your stash is a dirty place, away from prying eyes. Your stash area should be clean and tidy to provide maximum care and respect for your precious buds. If you feel the need to hide your stash still, you can do that – just make sure it’s in a clean spot.

Weed storage is simple when you know what you’re doing and why you’re doing it.
