Bring Out the Truth About Your Brand
A lot people think that logo designing is easy, well it isn’t! it’s not just a few clicks here and there and downloading fonts and icons for a company, it is about understanding what that company stands for and represents in life. Every bit of detail, every stroke, every color, every shape must coexist with the essence of the client, because this will represent him, her or everyone that will be under the company’s new logo. So, it is better to talk about the details with the client first, research the theme that they want and then start from there. You can’t rush a good logo, it will become a disaster, so to prevent that, just do one thing, RESEARCH.
-
Simplicity is the best policy
Another word of advice, KEEP IT SIMPLE MATE. Putting too many shapes, strokes, icons, or making complicated designs will definitely be an obstacle for the client’s market to understand or appreciate, or rather be far from the client’s expectations or message. Take Nike for example, the simple check design has connected well and has been recognized by millions of people around the world, and when you often see a check anywhere, you’ll be thinking of Nike. Be original yet simple at the same time.
-
Connect with what the Brand represents
It is very important to connect with the brand that you are designing the logo for. You must know what audience or market it aims to attract and what kind of message its principles want to deliver. Researching certain details like this is a key ingredient in making a logo successful because it will represent the calling and mission a company or a person represents or wants to achieve. Every stroke and shape should have meaning inclined with the client’s wants and the needs of the audience it aims to serve and please.
-
Color it Red, Green, or whatever it takes
Color will also become a key factor in a successful and sellable logo design. Combinations of certain palettes, gradients, pastels or just plain hues will give the audience a firework display in their eyes. Also, each color represents a trait, or behavior that will automatically connect with the audience. For example, red is energetic, black is creative, white is clean and pure, green symbolizes growth and nature etc. That is why you have to also talk this thing out with the client so that every detail that he or she wants to show in the logo will appear and be remembered by everyone.
-
Make it Trending
Of course, if you want to make your logo competitive and not burn to ashes in the mainstream, you have to make it look, hip, cool and new. Going against the flow leaves small room for success but if you make it with a little trending approach, you’ll be sure that you will capture anyone’s attention in just one glance. Remember that you will be dealing with mostly millennials, so be very smart and cautious when choosing your logo theme. They are easy to impress but get tired of things easily.

Make it fit Anywhere, Anytime, with Anyone
Lastly, a good logo has to be flexible, in all formats, printed or digitally posted. You have to make sure that it will fit nicely with posters, websites, WordPress formatted themes, business cards and other advertisement platforms. This will ensure that the client will have more options to put his or her advertisement, thus increasing audience numbers and potential buyers and supporters. Believe me, this is very essential when it comes to logo making because you will be giving a great advantage to your client. Consider the size, shape and design that will make any platform a walk in the park.
Every bit of advice came from my experience as a logo designer. And it has proven to be worthy of any test and obstacle. The thing is, you just have to make sure that every detail, big or microscopically small is polished so that when you present it to the client, he or she will not hesitate to show it to the audience right away. Cheers!
